How is it assessed?

This modern qualification combines activities, learning and interactive materials to provide you with an interesting and engaging experience. It focuses on key skills that means you can instantly apply the knowledge you gain and add value to your organisation.

Assessment is a two-step process:

  • A question paper to assess what you know (2 hours)

  • A practical risk assessment to assess what you can do (3 hours)

Both assessments are marked by external examiners appointed by NEBOSH. These examiners are chosen for their experience and expertise to ensure that learners are assessed by the very best from our industry.

What does it cost and how long does it take?

How long does it take?

The National General Certificate will involve a minimum of 68 taught hours and approximately 40 hours of private study and background reading.

We deliver the course to your requirements; however, the most popular option is a block course:

Week 1: NG1 (5 days - Monday to Friday)

Week 2: NG2 (5 days - Monday to Friday with assessment submitted 5 days after the exam date)

Revision Day (1 day - Monday)

Exam (am written exam - 2 hours)

If you would prefer then we can split the course so that it does not impact your work so much, i.e. do NG1 and schedule NG2 afterwards - nb it will take longer to achieve certification.
